Functions and Responsibilities of Institutional Bodies

DR SVK Educational Charities: As the promoting charitable trust, it provides strategic direction, financial support, and policy oversight. It ensures that the Institute’s Vision, Mission, and PEOs are upheld through ethical governance, sustainability, and resource mobilization for academic excellence.
Governing Body (GB): The Governing Body, constituted as per AICTE guidelines, is the apex decision-making authority. It approves Vision, Mission, and strategic plans, ratifies budgets, and ensures statutory compliance. It regularly reviews the achievement of PEOs, oversees institutional policies, and supports initiatives that strengthen academic quality, research, and industry linkages.
Board of Studies (BoS): The BoS functions at the programme and specialization level. It designs, reviews, and updates curriculum to align with PEOs, regulatory frameworks, and industry requirements. It recommends innovative pedagogy, integration of infotech and analytics, and inclusion of sustainability and ethics in courses.
Director: The Director is the academic and administrative head of the Institute. As Member Secretary of the Governing Body, the Director implements its policies, ensures effective delivery of Vision and Mission, and fosters industry partnerships, research culture, and global learning.
Academic Chair: The Academic Chair/Area Chair leads a functional specialization. Responsibilities include curriculum execution, mentoring faculty, ensuring alignment of course outcomes with PEOs, and fostering innovation in teaching-learning methods.
Controller of Examinations (CoE): The CoE ensures transparency and integrity in assessments. Functions include designing evaluation systems, coordinating examinations, publishing results, and ensuring assessment methods reflect outcome-based learning and PEO attainment.
Other Committees and Heads: Committees such as the Career Development Cell, IQAC, Research Committee, and Grievance Redressal Cells support stakeholder engagement, quality assurance, research advancement, and ethical practices. Each aligns its functions with Vision, Mission, and PEOs, ensuring holistic student development and institutional excellence.
